Volunteer at the 2026 ICC Conference!

A message to University of Arizona graduate students:

CERCLL’s 10th biennial Intercultural Competence conference takes place February 27-March 1, 2026, with a theme of Intercultural Competence in a Rapidly Changing World: Supporting Sustainable Futures for All, in the ENR2 building on campus. Check out the event website here: https://icc.cercll.arizona.edu/.

If you have been here for a couple of years or more, you probably know that we rely on U of A graduate student volunteers to help run the conference. In exchange for 6-7 hours of your time, we can give you free conference registration. This is a great opportunity for you to add a line to your CV, to gain experience in how academic conferences are run, and to meet and exchange ideas with established scholars in your field.

Tasks for volunteers can be anything from chairing sessions or interfacing with remote participants during presentations, to stuffing registration packets before the conference, to helping out at the registration table and cleaning up afterwards, to driving a mini-van full of conference participants (let us know if you have done the UA training to drive these vehicles!), etc. You will sign up for 6-7 hours of your time at (or before) the event, and you can work with our volunteer scheduler so that you are signed up for times when you don’t have class or you want to be in the audience at a particular presentation. You can now see the list of presentations with their summaries, and the schedule. There will be a mandatory orientation session on campus in the Spring so that you know what’s expected of you as well.

Our apologies but you should also know that because the conference cannot run without student help, U of A students are not eligible for the student registration scholarships. So if you want to attend the conference for free, you will need to become a volunteer.

➤➤➤ We will tell you how to register later, but for the moment, please add yourself to the volunteer list now.
We have a scheduling poll for people who sign up to volunteer (sign up at the button above, and we will send you the poll). Responses are due on the poll by January 26.

This opportunity is available for U of A graduate students only.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you,

Kate
